The client?

Red Hot World Buffet & Bar began in Nottingham in 2004 serving 120 different dishes from Indian, Italian, Chinese, Thai, Mexican and Japanese cuisines. Since then it has expanded to seven restaurants serving around 44,000 people per week, and the company employs over 720 people with each restaurant serving up to 300 different dishes from cuisines around the world.Red Hot World Buffet & Bar currently owns the largest restaurants in Manchester, Cardiff, Liverpool, Leeds, Northampton and Milton Keynes.

The problem?

Red Hot World Buffet & Bar had a brand new, very exciting dining concept and wanted to open its biggest restaurant in Manchester. However, the company was virtually unheard of in a city full of established restaurants and cheap buffet offerings. The owners needed a Manchester public relations agency capable of making sure every Mancunian knew that they were being offered something they’d never seen before, as well as generating the national buzz that the chain deserved.

The solution?

A star-studded restaurant launch to celebrate the world cuisine available at the restaurant, attended by OK Magazine, the BBC, Manchester Evening News and Manchester Confidential, and featuring live music entertainment from Mexican mariachis, Russian ballet dancers, Indian dhol drummers and Chinese kung-fu demonstrations, complete with dragon.

An intense three month regional PR campaign around the launch, featuring interview spots on BBC Radio Lancashire, BBC Radio Manchester, BBC Asian Network, reviews by popular online titles as well as national coverage in the Daily Telegraph and Financial Times.

To demonstrate our versatility and range of ability we designed and implemented a thought leadership programme for Red Hot that resulted in them achieving national media coverage for its apprenticeship scheme, including FT, as well as winning a series of awards for innovation and business leadership and embarking on an exciting corporate social responsibility programme.

As a result of the success of what we were able to deliver in such a short time, we are now delighted to retain Red Hot World Buffet on an extended contract with some exciting national projects in the pipeline.
